Smoky Mountain Tax Experts is owned and operated by Rick and Rachel Wion who relocated to  East Tennessee five years previous after successfully creating an accounting practice in suburban Chicago servicing 1450 clients annually. Rick holds a University of Texas MBA and has been licensed to practice by the Department of the Treasury as an Enrolled Agent since 1994.

They have collaborated on over 24.000 individual, entity (Partnership & S-Corp), and estate tax returns specializing in personal and small business clients providing financial and operational guidance based on 32 years of personal success. Residing in the Knoxville suburb of Strawberry Plains, they offer a unique focus on an individual basis and encourage face to face interaction. They have worked with a variety of individuals including governmental and union workers, teachers, artists and actors, self employed business owners, lawyers, and doctors. 

Rick Wion, EA has developed unique skill and an impressive record of success and is authorized by Treasury to represent taxpayers before the IRS on all tax-related matters including audits, collections, offer in compromise, installment plans, appeals, and unfiled returns. 

Rick is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the National Association of Tax Practitioners. Rick is also licensed to practice and represent clients before the IRS.
